This session, after being re-scheduled 3 times due to sickness and weather, was worth the wait! We also have Mariah on our senior blog. What a beautiful family--lots of height too!!
Wendy is responsible for some of the most beautiful weddings I've photographed--she's the coordinator at the Grove Hotel. I've had the privilege of photographing both of her daughters' senior portraits and now her Christmas shot. They decided on colorful pajamas--nice touch. I can't figure out how they all have such vivid eye colors but in three completely different shades.
Finding Holly on Craigslist was a total lifesaver! She's an amazing house cleaner which kept me sane through my busy summer season. This is her beautiful family. They wanted something different so here we are at the top of a Boise parking garage. All her boys are too cool...
These 3 kids were so fun to shoot because they obviously love each other and don't mind "cuddling!" Matthew is so lucky to have 2 cool big sisters! Happy Birthday, Meagan!
This is a great group of people and the "Night in Hollywood" event seemed to be a fabulous success! BYP is doing so much for the community and for the future of Boise businesses--we were very impressed and hope to get more involved ourselves. Congratulations to the award winners! Lucy was at the studio all day with me on Friday so I used her to test the light for one of my shoots. She photographs well as all weimaraners do! I'm trying to get her used to hanging out at the studio because she makes a great companion and if she stays home for long periods of time she gets naughty and chews holes in things.
This was a totally fun bridal party so we knew we could take them just about anywhere! They didn't mind taking time out of their day to create some playful shots. Even though it was mid-day, the sun in October is mellow enough to use as a main light or to include in the background so it made shooting pretty easy.
This was last Friday, but I couldn't resist putting up a couple of images. Meg, their dog, loves to pull Jeff on the skateboard so she was very cooperative. I felt bad we had to tie her to a tree down at the river when all she wanted to do was get in the water and have fun with her masters!
Nathan's grandma, Alice, gives each of her grandchildren a 16-yr. portrait session and came along for the shoot. What a great gift and tradition! He's a gymnast so we took these at the gym where he trains and teaches. Alice wasn't sure about the shirt off thing, but we thought it was pretty cool!
Anthony was completely peaceful during this whole shoot. It was so easy to capture his sweet personality. He showered his dad more than once with surprising accuracy.
J and J made the decision to take a half an hour after their ceremony, before their reception to get away to capture these great images. Thanks, Louise, for being unafraid of the huge bald man standing on your doorstep claiming to be a pro photographer and for letting us invade your beautiful farming property!
We had a great day at the Shore Lodge in McCall with Kimberly and Karl. They have such a great group of friends. I thought this shot was pretty funny...
We had to get creative since it rained non-stop during the day of Brian and Jen's wedding. With their striking looks they were great for dramatic shots like these...
These guys displayed amazing Ninja skills when we had to scale a chain link fence to get to our location...other than the wind/dust storm and the killer bee, everything went well and we got some great images!
We got all the outdoor photography done 30 seconds before a major storm! At that point they actually had to move all the chairs indoors for a tightly packed ceremony...
I wish I could post more often! Here's a shoot from a couple of weeks ago. Casey and LaBree are so chill and easy to photograph. It was fun to get to know them before their wedding day since we hadn't met in person yet! Casey, didn't you mention I could use some of these for advertising? I think I should--what a hot couple!
Today we went to the mountains to celebrate Addison's 7th birthday. Fishing, lighting things on fire, digging and climbing were our main activities at this river near Idaho city. The light was amazing at the end of the day and I captured these images of our 4 kids with one of my cheapest lenses. I'm thinking about making this into a wall piece for our home. I love how messy they look--although I did take out the giant spot of eyeliner that Shandon's brother had put on his eyebrow on the car ride up.
